Individual Therapy
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois and can provide individual, typically weekly, therapy to adults in the state. Currently, I am only offering telehealth sessions, but hope to offer limited in-person sessions in Chicago soon. I am also PSYPACT licensed, which allows me to provide telehealth therapy in additional states (any state in dark blue on this map: https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap).

TTRPG Group Therapy (think Dungeons and Dragons!)
Therapy is most effective when the concerns that bring you to counseling play out in the therapeutic space itself. Tabletop Roleplaying Game group therapy is a fun and effective way to help that happen. So roll initiative and bring it to the table!
If you’re not confident TTRPGs are for you (or nervous to try them out) I offer one-shot introductions that can be a fun way to meet me, try something new, and maybe learn something about yourself. While these one-shots are not covered by insurance, the ten-week groups often are!

Couples Therapy
Couples therapy can provide tools and space to improve relationships and manage difficult conversations. I have a Level 1 certification in the Gottman method of couples counseling, which focuses on communication strategies to strengthen relationships and deepen intimacy. I work primarily with LGBTQ+ couples and with couples in which one or more partners is exploring their identity.

Outreach and Trainings
Therapy services can be hard to access, it’s important to me that Deiss Psychotherapy’s impact doesn’t end there. I offer trainings on community suicide prevention to people in and serving high-risk communities. I also provide education on working with gender diverse populations for mental health and medical providers. I’m also happy to work with your organization to develop trainings and workshops related to my specialty areas!
Gender Affirming Specialty
